April News and Ebook - The Hare

My focus for the month has been on the Hare... so not a bird but I hope you enjoy it ….

There will be a new exhibition at the Cornwall Crafts association Gallery in the grounds of the National Trust Trelissick Estate entitled Treasure and I have been enjoying developing some new work for this based on ideas around a particular interested in the historical importance and didactic role that birds and animals have played in the lives of humans, I have researched medieval illuminated manuscripts, religious icons and amulets believed to be endowed with special powers to protect or bring us good fortune. I have made a series of casts from printmaking plates and embellished them with gold-leaf.

Cornwall Open Studios 2022 is not far away and will run from 28th May to 5th June 2022. I hopefully will send out a further newsletter before this time, but in the meantime there is more information here

The exhibition at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge in aid of Curlew Action is still ongoing. I have a little group of linocuts in the show including the one below.
