This is an original water colour Sketch of a Swallow I had the pleasure of caring for it came to the group after its nest collapsed, sadly its siblings did not survive the fall and as they do a lot better with other birds this little one was paired up with a fledgling House Martin, the learned to feed on the wing with me and then were released back to the wild. Such a gorgous little personalities and whilst I would not tame them as it would not serve them I cannot help becoming very attached to them.
Painted on white heavyweight Seawhite 29 x 21 cm paper. The second photograph shows the original painting photgraphed against a white wall in natural light to provide as acurate colour infomation as possible, no filtering has been used.
Throughout March I will be popping a sketch or artists proof (lino cuts) on to this page each day... but to make it more fun I am going to start the prices really low and raise the price by £1 a day! As I dont keep a sketchbook but work on single sheets of heavy weight cartridge paper, it is these or artists proofs that I will be including in the sale. They will be unframed and unmounted. At least 50% of the sale price will go towards improving facilities and the purchase of a portable incubator.
To keep the cost of postage down these pieces are sold unmounted and unframed, it will be posted flat in a card backed envelope
UK postage & packaging will be £3.50 International standard postage is £5.00
